My Aurei collecting goal on a decent mid-level budget

12 Caesars in gold is out of the question for me price-wise (Caligula, Galba, Otho, Vitellius are all out of my price range). Also, I'm more interested in the span of Roman history and do not want to limit my collecting to just 12 Emperors.

With that said, I've identified a number of possible wants in terms of variety:

    1. One Boscoreale toned coin
    2. One Left-bust facing coin
    3. One coin with a solid pedigree (pre-WW2, Biaggi, etc)
    4. One Fine Style style type coin (I know this is an NGC designation but I'm not confined to buying slab)
    5. One plate coin/referenced in a well-published manual

(for those with deep pockets you can probably get 3-4 of the above in one coin; for me I rather have it as 5 separate coins)

Obviously the price has to be right (for me) and I wouldn't pay too much of a premium for these, rather, they would be nice to have/push me to maybe bid just a hair more.

Thoughts? Do you have your own "would be nice to have a_______" coin?

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Those are some pretty cool wants.

Do you have any specific pedigree or published manuals in mind that you've just got to have? Or just any in general?

I can recommend to add one position: aureus with Empress portrait. Some from second century absolutely amazing.

None in general, but a famous one. e.g. Eliasberg, Stack, Biaggi, etc
