I changed that message because I don't want any CoinTalk newcomers to think I am a voice of authority just because I have bunches of "likes". I do try to give thoughtful opinions but I'm still just a newbie, plus sometimes I have "senior moments" and sometimes I'm just plain wrong. My advice is free and is usually worth the amount paid :D

I agree with every thing. You do very well. Your research talents are impeccable! That creates wonderful confidence. And, yeah, Senior Moments are a pain! :)

While the coin is interesting enough on its own, zumbly brings up the really interesting question of price.
    http://cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=182893
    https://cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=331140

The same seller estimated the same coin at the same $150 in sale 253 (2011) and sale 393 (2017). The old sale realized $380 while the new one $180. Why? They say, in football, 'Any Given Sunday'. That works for coin sales, too. Steve mentioned that he thought the coin was worth a lot more than he paid. We already see a line forming asking for the coin if Steve loses his senses and decides he no longer wants it. That makes me in the minority of seeing the seller estimates as reasonable to slightly low and the $180 number as a reasonable realization considering we have a tasteless centaur flashing his armpit at the viewer. This is the kind of rude coin that got some of us kicked off that other site before we moved to Coin Talk. :)

For the record: I would love to know what this coin would bring in another, future CNG sale but I would be extremely disappointed in Steve if he sells that coin while I am still alive. :singing:Its a keeper and he knows it. Clap your hands.

Awesome, I don't have a centaur coin. I could post a coin with a horse since technically a centaur is part horse and... oh wait I'm rambling. :D

Merlin, I'm not up on my centaur social circle (sadly, I had to search "Chiron")

Thanks for the centaur lead ...

Amusingly, the Hercules cartoon from my youth is where I saw and fell in love with centaurs ...

=> "Newton" was Herc's sidekick ... do you dudes remember that cartoon?

Probably not, eh? ..... I just checked and it was low-budget Canadian/American cartoon created in 1962 (man, that dates me a bit, eh?)

Thanks again for getting me searching for centaur-stuff, Merlin

Very neat. I love the concave "dishy" appearance of the flan, too.
