I've heard of mailing coconuts and I've seen ww1 german helmets that American soldiers stuck stamps to and mailed home but never a two dollar note.

 

Mine is a Series 1976 $2 bill with a 29¢ Commercial Aviation stamp and a postmark APR 13, 1976. The date is the first day the modern $2 bill was reintroduced by the U.S. Treasury. Its very common and not worth much. It probably didnt go through the mail system. People can take a note and buy a stamp and have the postman stamp it with a date, popular for birthdays or wedding days.
