1853 arrows and rays Quarter!!! 1 year coin. Worth grading or not?

    +I'm new to coin collecting. I have no clue what grade this coin would receive. I Have less than $30 in the coin. Is the condition good enough that grading it and having it put in a slab would be worth the extra investment?

    Not in that condition. They minted 15 million so it really isnt rare and not real valuable in that condition. But it is a neat coin.

    Imo no not worth it based on condition and that fact that although it may have been a one year design before change that Philly alone minted 15 million+ coins. Also you should avoid touching the obverse/reverse of coins as in photo #2 as it's a good way to leave behind finger prints that may not show up for quite some time as a result of that one mishandling.

    Ballpark grade, maybe VG10 with an area of heavy rim wear. Looks like a nice example, I like the look of the arrows and rays design. Price was about right, I'd say.
