What's up with this 1851 Braided Hair Large Cent?

    Why does this Large Cent look blurry?

    Looks like the dies were slightly tilted. I wouldn't say blurry.

    If it is genuine, which the reverse convinces me it is, it’s a very late die stat. The dies are “very tired” with probably a dose of rust. The humid Philadelphia climate could rust dies very quickly. This was not unusual in the 19th century.

    I think part of it could also be the picture. It looks to me like it is a little bit pixilated - makes it hard to determine, but probably as mentioned.

    Tired dies, 1851 didn’t have the luxuries we have today.
