simply said.. I would swear I lost the 1st auction for the 79cc.. So I bid on another I needed for my full morgan set.. a nice 89s.. The 79cc didn't show up as a win until I was paying for the pretty 89s... While I'm happy to have won both, I sort blew out my budget for the month lol I'm just gonna post the "Great Shots" without any edit so if you really want you can find out what they are graded you can.. but I will post the grades in about 24hrs lol.. and being GC I overpaid for both lol... Here are my 2 wins for tonight
The 89S is purdy. I'll also say MS62. Sometimes the graders just get out of the bed ornery, so they could also give it a AU58. Weak strikes drive me crazy, doesn't mean it's necessarily wear either. And I didn't cheat.
I just got this formerly raw 1889S back from grading a couple of months ago. Of course, they gave it a 58. However, yours has a lot more luster.
Whether you blew out your budget or not, you got a nice coin for a good price. Especially when you take the VAM into account!
I think I did quite well on the pair (as pyhsics-fan3.14 suggests lol) and seeing I can read the full liberty on it I would call it VG 8-10 and while it will become my lowest clean graded morgan in the set it is a top-100 VAM and a great example of a circam (we really need to get pcgs/ngc/etc to add that designation lol) and I think i got it for a great price. As for the 89s I so far agree with the grade on the slab.. once in hand I might decide it's a weak strike but even at that I don't think it would grade above 61-2
