I saw some beautiful clashed die coins this weekend and it stirred my appetite to acquire a few more of these. I'm surprised that there isn't a die clash themed follow-the-post thread already (of course, I may have missed it).

What do you make of this 1877 Quarter, with clashed obverse & reverse & extensive radial die cracks:

This 1857 Flying Eagle Cent also caught my eye (I didn't spot any clash on the reverse, which may indicate the reverse die was replaced before this was struck):

And, finally, a clashed trime (1865, I think? I forgot to pair it with a picture of the obverse in my notes):

A couple of tips here. Take coins out of the 2x2's and slightly better pics.
Too darn close for us to see. Thank You. ;)

1857 was a fun year for clashes.
The die for the obverse was clashed with the die from the 1857 $20 gold piece.

    And, another...
Try opening pictures. Compression of 12MP photos creates artifacts that are eliminated when you view them in full, native size.

Also, the 1857 FEC wasn't mine to take put of the flip. On the trime, any reflections you're seeing are because I was shooting at 9.9x zoom through a 35x loupe.

I've seen that one in the Cherrypicker & still scratch my head how such a massive 2 step error could have happened at the mint. And I'm impressed that it was identified!

I posted this one several years back in another thread and a member commented on how cool the clash was. I had never noticed it before!!

I do need better photos of this coin. It’s a great clash.

I gave one of those but mine is a later clash as it’s not as pronounced as yours.

26.jpg 27.jpg With this one the obverse cent die was clashed with a half dollar die.
