I saw some beautiful clashed die coins this weekend and it stirred my appetite to acquire a few more of these. I'm surprised that there isn't a die clash themed follow-the-post thread already (of course, I may have missed it). What do you make of this 1877 Quarter, with clashed obverse & reverse & extensive radial die cracks:
This 1857 Flying Eagle Cent also caught my eye (I didn't spot any clash on the reverse, which may indicate the reverse die was replaced before this was struck):
And, finally, a clashed trime (1865, I think? I forgot to pair it with a picture of the obverse in my notes):
A couple of tips here. Take coins out of the 2x2's and slightly better pics. Too darn close for us to see. Thank You.
1857 was a fun year for clashes. The die for the obverse was clashed with the die from the 1857 $20 gold piece.
