Yes long GTG as it has to ship to me and then ship to NGC and we all know how quick that is lol.. I'll be honest I put her at about a 62 with a 63 maybe... of course that's going by the sellers pics.. I will update my guess once it is in hand. As for price, well if it comes back MS60 I still break even lol... besides, my collection has a softpac GSC so this adds a nice hardpack (and yes I will have it certified in the GSC slab) Anyhoo enough yak, what do you think of this puppy
Probably a 62...reverse is nicer; obverse has some deeper hits on the cheek that likely hold it back unless it gets the CC bump to a 63 On another note, any reason that you want to grade it as opposed to keeping it as-is? The gap between raw GSA and a 63 is not significant on this date. A 63 sold for $390 earlier this week. I saw a 62 sell for $370. Meanwhile raw prices are in the $350s. With grading fees and shipping, you would be spending over $30 and not recovering that unless it grades MS 64 (even then it is close to breakeven as 64s can be had for $400-$475).
It seems like 90% of the GSA Carson City slabs grade out at MS63. My very first post on Coin Talk in the introductions page was posting my 1882 GSA CC. Everyone was extremely inviting and helpful. Yours may fall into that same category, though your reverse looks 65. The obverse usually rules the roost however. I've got the usual trinity of 82,83, and 84 CCs in GSA. My only gripe is that the holders do not fit into my slab trays. I did double down and got this one (an additional one) at a very good deal, not a GSA but at about the same price as those that are selling at the same price. I think I stole it.
