Other than myself, did anyone pick up the gold/silver dime set? Best of the Mint 1916 Mercury Dime Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set As of 12:30pm it looks like they are still avialable. i know many people don't buy the overpriced mint products anymore. I just really like Mercury Dimes and when I was perusing Provident the older 2016 dime by itself in OGP was near the price is this combo at $721 vs $810 for the 2026 combo.
I grabbed one too. I wish it was cheaper and/or that the silver medal was available separately, but I couldn't pass up adding this to my collection. I can't wait to put it next to my highest graded Mercury dime and the 2016 gold counterpart
At 30k mintage I thought they would be gone immediately. I was shocked that I got in about 11:15 Central and could still order it. Rick L.
They're still available at 3:30 EST When I originally logged in at 11:30 I had the screen for the set. Then their "thank you for your patient" screen with a 15 minute countdown until it opened the sales.
I, like @fretboard , purchased the 2016 version along with the SLQ that year. I’ll pass on this years versions.
Dime looks good enough, but too rich for my blood. Not a fan of the accompanying medal AT ALL. It looks like a poorly drawn cartoon.
Not I. There has to be a good reason for me to buy the modern mint stuff these days, especially at their prices. All I really want is a silver Proof set every year to keep my Proof set date set going. I am hoping I'll get my set not too long after June 11 when it is supposed to be released. I have a subscription. I hope it works.
I have the Silver proof set in my Subscription too Got their email about the set this morning too .. $245 ... yikes.
I checked this morning, 363 were available at 8:47 am EDT. Keep checking back each morning, it appears this will follow the traditional pattern of canceled orders (bad credit cards, exceeding the Household Order limits), putting stock on sale for a few hours each day for a few days or a week.
Yes, “Yikes.” At least it’s got silver in it. That’s why I switched to silver sets several years ago. Now the sets I bought years ago have values equal to the spot price.
I have alway bought just the silver sets, and limited edition silver sets. I think the only uncirc set subscription I've bought is this years as it has the last penny ? At least my kids will find value in them as it has a zero basis cost for them.
we I received the package yesterday, but do you know what I noticed ? The website https://www.usmint.gov/best-of-the-mint-1916-mercury-dime-gold-coin-and-silver-medal-set-26BM1.html lists the price as $800 But, they charged $810 Do they have surge pricing ???
MAYBE the last penny... unless it isn't. They've not yet said whether or not they'll be ones in proof/uncirculated sets next year. Legislation allows them to make them for "numismatic purposes" at their discretion (essentially whenever they feel like it).
Hate to break it to you, but it's not the last. 2025 was the last year struck for circulation 2026ff will be annual sets only
