My dog did find recently a coin with the year 1752 on it. After searching around I think that it should be a coin from that year from Austria-Netherlands, under Francis I. It was found nearby Mechelen which was economically growing in that period under the ruling of the Austrian emperor. Hereby two pictures. As I understand there are also 'fake' coins from that period, can someone help me out if this is an original one of that period? I did try out a magnet on the coin, and it doesn't seem to be an iron coin.
Well, my dog takes almost everything from the ground if I don't watch out. And then I mean everything. He likes to take things in his mouth just to chew on it. Yesterday I found this coin in his bench. So I'm pretty sure he found it, kept it with him (in his cheeks). He did that once before also with a screw. Luckily he doesn't swallow such things...
Looks like the best way to determine may be to weight it - the original ducat is 3.45g and the token is only 2.24g.
