So you're saying there's a chance... The president wants to add his signature to currency (and presumably future presidents would do so too if the design change goes through) and that's probably more likely than this $250 bill coming into existence, since it wouldn't require an act of Congress to authorize, probably (there's really no law that says a president's signature can't be on a bill, and the designs of existing bills are essentially up to the Secretary of the Treasury, with a few laws saying what can and can't be done, like it can't depict a living person). The $10 bill is due to be redesigned some time this year already. Far more likely we may see the president's signature on a bill than his picture. And far more likely than Congress authorizing an entirely new denomination.
I don't mind bigger bills to match the crazy inflation, but really disagree with living presidents on currency - that's a monarch thing. It is not in the best interest for our nation or our national ideals. Also, this feels a lot like self-interest and personal branding instead of a geniune celebration of our nation's 250th birthday. Trump Tower, Trump Steaks, Trump Bibles, Trump Dollars. It feels like, "a cult of personality or a cult of the leader is the result of an effort to create an idealized and heroic image of an admirable leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise." - Wikipedia. Crazy times...
