.55 cents in the cup at the self serve in the grocery. I am doing better there than at the Coin Star.
Went past the machine in food city and was happy to see a pile of coins in it. Not as cool as silver but I'm happy
No so much a find. I was dumping coins at the coinstar for a no fee gift card. When I was done, the machine said there was a issue. I got slip to cash with no fee. That works.
The cent was in the reject slot, but being "hardcore" and I peek under the machine and found this filthy old quarter hiding out: It pays to peek under the machine.
I've thought about it, but: First, I get self-conscious enough already just walking by and scoping out the return slot on every visit, never mind the times I actually fish coins out of the slot. At my age, getting down on my hands and knees is kind of a production; I'd probably have associates running to see if I need medical help. Second, when our local Food Lion was remodeling, they moved the CoinStar, and left its spot uncovered. Yeah, there were coins there. But they were embedded in half an inch or so of everything you can imagine building up on a grocery store's floor over a period of years. I looked at the coins, saw that the ones I could make out were modern clad, and decided I didn't have the stomach to go after them. But, hey, if you or I sweep under the machine often enough, I guess stuff wouldn't build up that much!
