Not ancient, medieval. I believe this is Frederick II, the Great, Holy Roman Emperor. The inscription calls him king of Sicily and Jerusalem, and while he ruled a number of kingdoms, he held that title from 1225-1228. (Your second picture is upside down. The crown should be up.)
