Mine, sold years ago, now mine again…

I know some of you never sell. I do, periodically, for various reasons. Once in a while, I actually end up buying back a coin I had previously owned, years before.

I had this Hadrian Alexandria tet in my records as a raw coin. Sold it to a friend five or more years ago. I do not recall whether I eventually submitted it to NGC or whether the guy I sold it to did that.

Anyway, it’s now in a plastic coffin. I know some of y’all hate that, but I’m not one of those haters. I see both sides (pro- and anti-) in the “slabbed ancients” debate, and think both sides have valid points. I come down slightly on the pro-slab side.

But anyway, here’s Hadrian, mine again after several years in someone else’s collection.

Ever do that- sell one and later buy it back? Please share the details.

PS- based on my cloudy memories, I think I just paid a bit more for it the second time around, but oh well. I originally bought it raw from @KenDorney. The person to whom I sold it (and just rebought it from) was referencing Heritage past auctions of slabbed ones in his pricing, I think. No matter. It is welcome back home with me for a while.

There are some coins I've sold in the past I wish I could buy back.

Oh, MY list of THOSE is endless! But I don’t always get the chance for a buyback…

As far as I know, I have never purchased back anything that I have sold. Like others said, there are a few that I would gladly do that.

On the other hand, I did sell this back to the person I purchased it from.

Yes! That was another recent homecoming! I was tickled to get it back. Good swap. :)
