He’s asking that price because it’s a 1911-D, the key date and about a $5000 coin when real.

When it doesn't have the word COPY in huge, obvious capital letters stamped into the coin.

    He doesn’t care about that.

Super low grade copy. If you know anything about how the real thing looks, that one shouts "FAKE!!!" as soon as you see it. Here's a real one with a different date.

Guy is super anxious to sell.
I added it to my watch list and quickly received a 500 off offer.
He is just sitting there counting the money in his head. Disappointment will set in as his dreams are crushed

Never entirely sure with listings like this if the seller doesn't know it's not real, or they're hoping other people don't know.

Well, he has a feedback of "2", so I'm not sure he is heavy into EBay selling, and he evidently can't read the 4 clear letters of "copy". I think he had visions of diamonds in his head and was taken by buying it from someone else, hoping to make a fortune.

How do you know it's not an error coin?

An error coin, you mean the mint decided to add the word Copy to the dies?

    Yup, that's the error.
The real error is why does eby allow for such scams.

Someone send the seller a message and ask who CORY is :p
Would love to hear the reply o_O

    Maybe it's real gold?
Should be a slam dunk for an eBay return/could probably keep the coin for free less the legwork.
    I don't have an Indian , maybe I need this one.:D Screenshot_150~2.jpg

You can buy a real gold Indian made by the United States men a lot cheaper than you can buy this copy coin. You just won’t get the same Date or Mint mark.
