Frankly, I will pass on this one. I have a few issues with the toning otherwise the coin itself looks great.

Looks like target toning to me.

I would call it 50/50; there is a chance it makes it but I can also see it getting the dreaded questionable color.

I actually had a somewhat similar Mercury grade at ICG recently:

Looks NT to me. The obverse looks like an end roll toner, but you don't usually see a fully toned reverse on an EOR toner. I would be more worried that it has been cleaned than the originality of the toning.

    I dunno. It's attractive.
I concur. Reckon it could go either way.

I go by what Lehigh said. Heck, he's quite the 'oracle' on these things......

Agree with NT end of roll coin. But I have also seen this result on coins in the Blue Whitman tri-folders from my own collection. When I saw this I removed all of them out and into capsules, mylar or 2x2 flips.

The Whitman folders were an easy and inexpensive way to collect, organize and store your collection but they didn’t prevent fingerprints, discoloration and oxidation (toning).

That’s a beautiful coin and my first thought is NT. However, I can also see it may grade the AT way but I’m sticking with NT.

I'd go with NT - most of the AT coins are more striking.

Spectacular rainbow toning is always suspect, but it is possible.

There is no such thing as AT/NT, a coin is either market acceptable or not. While I do not collect these, this type of toning is consistent with what most TPGs and the market in general will accept - and likely pay a premium. That's a beautiful coin!

Glad to see you back Thad!

I definitely find it market acceptable if there is honest wear, even then an album produces the same product. This could have been pocket change and helped fill someones collection.

For decades, IMHO, ICG is the fairest TPG on earth with toning. The other TPGs have shoe-horned themselves into a very tight window for acceptable toning. I guess I don't blame them after toning-gate. But that was pure stupidity on their parts.

ICG has always had the expertise to recognize MA coins, they will slab them, while also rejecting the obvious manmade garbage polluting our hobby. I have recommended them many times over the years - quality service too!

New and improved non-darkweb password! Who in the hell steals a forum pw word? It's actually been out there for years, I didn't see that as a threat. This is the ONLY place that pw was used. 0 value to a darkweb @77hole.
