Dealers and cops bust thieves of $40K Peru coin

    Coin was 1709 Lima, Peru 8 Escudos, NGC MS62. Happened at CSNS. Pair of no-goods offered coin to dealer who was suspicious. He declined to buy and looked up coin … it was stolen. Thieves went to another table. First dealer called dealer at new table and told him to stall the thieves while security and cops were called. Some other dealers blocked exits. Security and cops arrested the thieves.

    That article is the most complete accounting I've read of the incident. Tony's table was close to a rear exit on the bourse and Dan Sedwick's table was not far away, I think in the same aisle. Others that helped out were also in the same area. If you weren't nearby (I wasn't), you never would have realized this happened. The police were parked outside the exit near Tony's table.
