Tape Residue?

    The second battery was taking forever to charge, time to buy another one, or two. Just got done! Taking Photos now! Might be a while.
    Anyways what do you think of this one?

    Reverse looks like it had sunscreen on one side. Different, I like it.

    I am gonna tell you the truth. I bought this coin because it was so' original. If you look close these is heavy tape residue under trust on the Rev.

    I do see it, whoever did that is not a coin collector, in my opinion.

    A split in toning I imagine could happen on a roll half folded. Maybe I have been looking at the coin all wrong.

    I don't think that is tape. Usually tape covering prevents any toning at all underneath. It's definitely interesting and unusual, as well as attractive toning. I've got a 1884 O coin I'm sending in for grading. It was toned before I bought it. It has an interesting story, one that I'll show a before and after a few months later when it comes back from PCGS. Sending it in doesn't make economic sense, sometimes I just do things because I can.:D

    Looks like something covered the right side of the coin and left the left side exposed to something that toned it.

    I'm not really seeing the tape residue but I only have a picture to look at. It probably looks different in hand.
