Struck-through or scratch?

    This one's a 1787 New Jersey copper that I'm on the fence to get. It's $73 but I genuinely can't tell if it's struck through or scratch. Could very well be either.

    Looks like it could possibly be a planchet flaw. IMO.

    Agreed, it looks like the planchet is cracked.
    I’ll also add that those staples need to be flattened or you might have a real scratch in that coin.
