I decided to make a set of nickels made up of only coins I found Coin Roll Hunting. Here is page one as an example. It is not complete, still searching my stash for a 1939-D. The "RARE" designation is primarily for whoever has these after me. I want them to know they are difficult to find. Comments on the concept are welcome.

Good luck... I did the same basically (I admit that 2 I got as gifts, and I bought the last 2) and is what really got my seriously started in roll-hunting. Even found a few buffalo nickels this way and other interesting odds and ends.

They are still out there. The oldest I have found is 1891 Liberty. Many Buffalos. I started another collection of restored Buffalo.

So glad for you. I've been getting a few rolls, off and on from my bank, and the oldest I found this last time was a 1964. Once in a while I will find one from the 1950's, and on rare occasions I'll find one from the 1940's. But, nothing like you're finding. The coins I get are from Lumis.

Looks terrific! And a few classic varieties mixed in for good measure. What collectors might be surprised to learn is that many of the finds will be in AU or better condition. That's a real bonus when that happens.

I have to admit that I'm tempted to start up the CRH events, especially since the pocket finds are dwindling. Most change these days are made up from quarters and dimes. Nickels have slowed and cents in many locations are nonexistent.

I'll be interested when you post you Circulation Buffalo set...I suspect that I'd have a pretty decent compilation of finds between my dated Buffalo and my Pickled Nickel sets.

Can you post both sides of the 1955 D/S? I would just like to see it. Might as well post the 1954 S/D, too if you don't mind? BTW, very good!

There are 4 OMM coins in this set:
1942-D over horizontal D, 1949-D over S, 1954-S over D and 1955-D over S. Each was posted when they were first identified. Your request is very reasonable and I will post them all as soon as I can get the photos pulled up.

Here are the 4 mint marks in order 42, 49, 54 and 55. If I want a deeper study it will take time. I judged the marks on the photos shown in the Red Book.

Here is Page 4 of my CRH Set. I ended it with a blank I found. I have yet to find a 1939-D.

I'm hoping to have a CHR set with all the coins listed in the Red Book. Tall order.

Yes sir. But the way you're going, I wouldn't bet against you. That's just a figure of speech, as you know. I'm not a negative type person, in fact, I'm applying for the President of your fan club. I believe you've got an excellent chance of completing that task! I've not seen anyone that i would place in front of you, especially the way you've been performing in the last few weeks. Truthfully, I am amazed at what you are finding CRH. I'm tempted to drive over there and stock up on Nickels to search (just joking, of course). I wouldn't want to get in your way, or slow you down. So, I'll watch from the front row of the sidelines, lol. Truly a fantastic job. Please keep us updated on your finds.
