1803 large cent for eval

    The surfaces are a bit rough, but I think it's a straight grade VG.

    I don’t see a straight grade for this piece, but I can see someone paying thin VG money for it.

    I'm thinking VG-10/F-12 details. May be considered minor environmental damage but could just as easily straight-grade.

    I like the large cents regardless of condition (unless very poor) and started collecting them after a gentleman remarked about their historical significance. He said of the later dates possibly being in the pocket of some young soldier going in to battle during the Civil War. After visiting several battlefields (Antietam, Manassas) that really made an impression.

    It took me over five years to complete a Fine and above Large Cent Collection. Completed in 2022. Thank goodness because the prices today are outrageous. Good luck to those who are still compiling a set.
