New Severina AS

    Here’s a new coin I recently acquired. It was reasonably priced. Interestingly, this is also my first AS from this particular period in Rome.

    O: SEVERINA AVG, Diademed and draped bust of Severina right.
    R: IVNO REGINA, Juno standing half-left, holding patera and scepter, peacock standing left before, officina mark Z (=7) in exergue.

    Wow, isn't that pretty big for the period? I guess the Severina I once had was an antoninianus.
