Guess the grade - 1954-S Rainbow Franklin

Beautiful coin and that toning adds to its beauty. MS-65 but not FBL. It’s close but unfortunately it’s not.

Did you see the 1954-S Franklin Half Dollar PCGS MS-67 FBL on GC now?
Not as colorful but I can see now where yours may not have gotten the FBL Designation.

 

MS-65? These coins are so tough sometimes!

 

Try finding a complete set of MS-64 or MS-65 Franklins graded by PCGS with FBL’s. I’ve been working for years to do so but I’m down to the final few. One day soon I hope but some years are really tough.

 

MS66 very nice toning

 

I completed the set in NGC FBLs, with the obvious exception of the 53S.

Very rewarding experience, but definitely tough!

I'll go with MS 66 no FBL. Pretty coin.

 

And the answer is .... MS 66 (which I think is fair)

 

I just looked it up now. It looks like it should be a grade higher but I'm not sold on the Full Bell Lines (mine does not deserve the designation either and it did not get it).

 

Off base with the FBL's. On point with the grade, an occurrence that doesn't happen all that often. Fun thread dddd. I enjoyed all opinions and your post in general. Looking forward to the next GTG.
