I got these in my most recent purchase, which included a 61-coin Buffalo nickel album. My first thought was that these two were VG, but after researching strike quality, I found that both dates are often poorly struck and may actually be a higher grade.

Given the context, what would you grade these two?

Here's the 24-S (there are scratches on the plastic):

    and the 26-S:

Both are tougher dates and yes, both are not struck well but these are both worn to a VG-8 grade at best in my opinion.

The good thing is, in VG-8 the 24-S bids at $30 and the 26-S at $40, so still makes up for about 1/4 of the entire album's cost. The best coin in the album at the moment is a 1918-D in VF, followed by a 1915-S in F-15.

I grade the 24-S VG, and the 26-S a scratched Fine, net VG.
