    I won these yesterday on the Stacks Bowers auction. I only bid on the lot because the 1876 Quarter has my grand daughters initials on it. and since her birthday is coming up it will be one of her gifts Counterstamped 19th Century United States Coins.jpg

    One of mine that still defies attribution . . . .

    In my mind it's too well made to be a 'one off' or individually hand stamped creation.

    Nice counterstamps, dwhiz. Not familiar with the Harner stamp but Hoff was a merchant who sold nearly everything imaginable over a long career in retail. He was in Auburn, NY Syracuse, NY and Pittsburgh, Pa at various times.

    If you want to Google him you should come up with a lot of info.
