1925 S California half, fair or foul?

    A coin friend says he knows a lady with a bag of these. A bag??
    Anyway, here it is in all its glory
    1925 S California Diamond Jubilee half dollar

    Funny, I think I've seen that coin on eBay before...

    Unfortunately it's counterfeit. The fakers have been going after classic commemoratives recently.

    Looks like the coin on edgy so I’d say fake as they have been copied.

    I've seen that coin, or similar one, on eBay. Yes, it is counterfeit. The Crimese and other countries are flooding our market with these and other duds, be very careful. Good luck.

    Genuine examples of this coin have highly reflective fields. This looks like a cast counterfeit. It has grainy surfaces, and it’s been “aged” by the stuff the Chinese use which looks like black shoe polish.
