Time to revive this old thread. Here are my Pocket pieces as of today. Yes I do carry all these at the same time.
I just keep this old gold double eagle as my good luck charm. Its a little beat up and scratched but that is ok. I also keep a good bit of cash too just so I can scoop up on any good deals that I find. The old saying is Cash is King
I keep a beat up and scratched $4 Stella as my pocket piece. Always good luck when I'm on the hunt for Ellington Lincolns.
Here's mine. Two months of alternating between my kitchen window sill on a curved wood block and my pocket full of coins that I take to the park almost every day with my daughter for her to hunt for "treasure." Before: After:
2 more months update: Not nearly as drastic as when I first set her loose in the wild, but the surfaces are changing nicely- the orange highlights around the portrait/"one cent" and yellow tones in the right field have relaxed into a more even brown.
This was carried to Africa, Italy and Europe during WW II by my Uncle. In 1965 he gave it to me and I carried it to Dominican Republic ('65) and to Viet Nam ('67). It was retired a couple of years ago, when I thought I had lost it but it was found in the washing machine.
Best_Pocket_Peace_Ever This was 2 weeks in. Its been about 4 now but I'll wait until next month or so to take new pics...
Here's 3 that I carry now. The Sac I've been carrying off and on since Jan. 2000. I took it from a roll I picked up at the Wal Mart in Gilford, NH, the nickel is a Chinese counterfeit of a 37 D 3 leg Buffalo/Hobo combo. The half is something that I handed out at a reunion.
Been carrying the copper coin for week or so and just started today with the silver( was hard for me to ruin it.)
