JB counter stamp

Does anyone recognize this stamp ? Hope I did this correctly. First post on cointalk

    I'm not familiar with this one but these initials-only counterstamps are almost impossible to attribute. From a research standpoint there's almost nothing to go on.

    By the look of yours I'd say the stamp was applied at least 20 or 30 years after the coin was struck. The font style, particularly the odd shaped J, is unusual but still quite old. I'm sorry I can't offer more in way of an ID.

    That’s one nice looking counter stamped coin. Not sure who JB is but this is not the first coin I’ve seen with these initials. He was probably a merchant of some sort.
