Found a few of these 1989 coins searching through rolls and saw this pic on Ebay, is this considered a double die or something else and is it of any value?http://cgi.ebay.com/1989-P-Lincoln-...goryZ524QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
dave: Definitely NOT a double die. On the date it is strike doubling, on the Liberty it looks more like die chatter. Look at the date: the flatness to the right (the second image) is a sure sign of strike doubling. If it was a Doubled die the second image would be the same height as the original image. I am not sure what that is on the Liberty, the B is strike doubling, the second I (the one to the left) looks strange, but if it was a doubled die, it would show on the other letters to some degree, and there is nothing there. Hope that this helps.
In the world of collecting it is worth 1 cent. On eBay? Billions and billions. I can see it now: Rare, Doubled Die obverse. Unique only one known. Opening bid: $1,000,000 Shipping & Handling: $2,500 (I don't work cheap.)
