Hey all! Haven't done this one in a while. It's simply called, "Terrific Two Cent Tuesday!". I have several that I have dug detecting and one, an 1869 that another collector gave me as a gift. They're not in great shape but they're mine and I found them which is even better to me anyways. One, that was an 1864 small motto that I sold for $125! It had to go for more coins. Three of them I found in one day at the same cellar hole. :) (shown below).
Please post your Two -Centers if you can? :woot:

I only have one. I thought of collecting a set of these as the cost was not that much due to the short life span. But the money had to go for other things. Two cent piece 1867 1.jpg Two cent piece 1867 2.jpg

1870 This is a leftover from a set I formed in 1980 when the coin market was nuts, and collectors were priced out of the market by "investors." There were fools who told us that there were "collector grade coins" and "investor grade coins." To whom were the investors going to sell their coins, other "investors?" It's called "the bigger fool theory."

This one grades EF, but it would not have taken much time in circulation for the coin to have gone to VG. The relief was not very high.

These coins were supposed to have been unpopular, but I've seen a lot of low grade ones from the late 1860s. They were not all pocketpieces.
