I know, I am guessing that grease was in the die when the coin was struck. I am guessing here. others here can tell you more.
Yep 25 cents. Die chip caused the D to be "clogged" Mintmarks like that are common and do not command a premium. I'd just keep it as an educational example.
I have one that appears to be filled as well but it's also smooth(very) around the edge and raised. I've kept hold of it but not much info on this.
There are some modern coins with errors, but it is really a needle in a haystack kind of thing. I see these filled D's all the time.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Justin! You do realize that this thread was started about 4-1/2 years ago, don't you? Besides, a seller on FleaBay can ask anything he or she wants. It doesn't mean that it will sell at that price, if at all. It's only worth 25c to the savvy collector. Me? I wouldn't want it at all. It's a "spender"! Chris
