I WILL be there this year ride and all already arranged... Now I just gotta know which tables to avoid lol
Traffic was very good at the show both Friday and Saturday. Nice and loud too . . . I like that din. The market seems healthy. When my table was a bit busy I think I recognized mrweaseluv walking by. I can't be sure if I was too distracted, or if I was on the "do not visit" list. @afox stopped by a couple of times, and we talked for a bit after he'd had a chance to walk the floor. Folks didn't really start clearing out until after 1:00 Saturday, and most dealers were packing up by 2:00 or so. I sold pretty well, but buying was sparse for me . . . I couple of relatively inexpensive coins was all I bought. Still I have plenty of new material to list, if only I can string together enough hours . . .
I think I hit every table at least once, but I actualy thought I saw you haveing lunch as we were headed out. You were definately on the "do visit list" but as mentioned the crowd was hopping friday
I had a good time on Saturday, but didn't purchase a single thing. Had a few great conversations, notably with Cabbage Coins and David Kahn Rare Coins, and a smaller collector/dealer I met at a Maine show that I enjoy talking with, John's Coins, (I think out of Billerica MA). Also chatted with an older dealer specializing in medals and tokens only, but didn't catch his name. It's really a great show, perfect size for 4 hours of shopping and talking. Parking is ridiculously easy, just enough security (not too much, not too little), and everyone seems like they were having a good / relaxing time, dealers and shoppers alike. I am unfortunately at a point where the coins I need are rarely seen in grades I can afford. I compare it to hunting, most times you go out, you don't see anything to shoot at, and even if you do, doesn't mean you're going to bring anything home. But it still can be enjoyable to just go. I also was very excited to go out to eat after the show at a Vegan place I love called "The Green Beautiful", but since the last show, it went out of business. That was a bummer, I was looking for super light and fresh for the drive home, but had to settle for mediocre noodles elsewhere that settled in my gut like concrete. I did at least get some nice chilled spicy cucumbers.
