Dumped an old bag and this one jumped out at me. Seems to be a lot going on here. CoinKnow rated it 63-65. The mint mark looks clean, but some other mint errors? Is it worth sending out for grading? Is this a 2-dollar penny, a 25- dollar penny, or something else? I appreciate any help!

I see ridge ring here which is a form of "die deterioration".
    Worth One Cent US money.

Thanks. Did you notice strike on the "LIBERTY"? According to APMEX, a 1968-S RD from MS-60 to MS-65 is worth from .22 to $1.70, so, there's that anyway.

It’s not Mint State. There’s too much wear on the high points on both sides. Couple that with the die deterioration and the multitude of large and small contact marks again on both sides, the worn off IGWT at the rim too, and you have maybe AU Details. Worth? ONE CENT.

You need to get a better camera/scope too. That will help you eliminate the pixelation. Right now you can’t begin to assess the surface condition with those pix.

By the looks of the reverse photo and the smoothness that Spark pointed out. I might be able to go MS60

It was indeed struck with an old master hub. 1968 was the last year for that one, which is why so many 1968 cents have the IGWT touching or merging with the rim. It is not worn off, it was struck that way. I'm also interested in what appears to be a DD or DS on the "LIBERTY."

It's possible that it's not mint state, though MS-60 may of course have numerous contact marks, bag scratches, or heavy scuffing. I'm no expert at grading coins. I do use the CoinKnow app to help get an idea, and it makes mistakes, but is consistently within about 2 or 3 points of actual certification grades. It said MS63-65, so that's what I was referring to. But if you can't begin to assess the surface condition from the poor quality of my cameras, then how can you be sure it's not MS? I included one bad one just to show Lincoln's button hole, because I can rarely see that so well. In person, this coin pops out more than other reds. I'm including another picture of the obverse with different lighting. Thanks for the input.
