Seriously? Notice how AFTERWARDS the dumb hillbilly makes sure to hold the tray underneath the coin while hillbilly #2 is holding it (on the edge because he knows how to "handle" rare coins)
Two blockheads / lunkheads talking and spitting over top of it. I am shocked. It should be slabbed for protection.
You know they are standing on concrete btw, imagine the rim ding that is no doubt on the coin now. So, a full 1pt down grade is what-? $100,000 +/- ???? Aaaaahhhh no biggie
Why does the moron on the left sound nervous? And the way he kept talking with his hands, had me thinking he was gonna drop it, not the other moron.
How dumb is this video. If this were a real 1913 they would have a guard standing by and I doubt if anyone having a coin of this value would let a honky touch it. Dave
There are 5 of these illegal coins, and if they are all entombed in a plastic slab, no one is taking a million dollar coin out of the slab where it can only be damaged.
You'd be surprised how often million dollar coins come out of their slabs for one reason or another. The guy on the left should have just handed him the tray.
The ANA did have the McDermott/Bebee 1913 liberty-head nickel at the Orlando show. And no, it's not in a slab. You can see it in its raw glory in the ANA virtual museum. If it was the real thing in the video, good chance there was a guard standing behind the camera. Was it staged with a fake coin? Dunno, but April 1 is a few weeks away. Cal
It's hard to believe that is a '13 nickel. There's no way he would be bouncing his gums over the coin like that. I hate fly-specks..... Interesting to note, as per that photograph, the 1920 ANA convention in Chicago was held in 1924 ? What's that about?
You guys are overreacting. This was the Bebee specimen, which was often handled, talked over, rubbed, dropped, etc. RAW when Bebee showed it off at events and parties. If you look at it, it is clearly circulated. What these guys have done to it would have an inconsequential effect on value.
I hear you. It was the McDermott Specimen on the far right. Still it was a Proof at one time, and dropping it I'm sure didn't improve its look any. This coin was a pocket piece for many years, right? And didnt I read it was mailed around in an envelope a number of times (back in the day).
