Can anyone help? I've looked in all my books but I can't find this note. My first thought was Korea or China. Help!!!!!
It has 33 years / year 33 written in that little box at the bottom right of the obverse, along with what is probably a dynasty.
The four prominent characters on the front read "Central Bank of China," one of the 75+ banks issuing currency in the 20th Century, and possibly among the five largest. The fact that it has no portrait of Sun Yat-Sen, and no English wording of any kind, suggested it was a derivative of a Japanese puppet bank, but I couldn't find it either. Those two omissions rule out about 90% of the designs of that period. If the OP can make a clear image of the two red squares on the front, and if they are approximately 21mm square, they may be the "Three Eastern Provinces and Manchurian" seal of authenticity, which will further help identify the source. edit//just saw Muzyck's post - think that nails it. edit2//Pick has renumbered Taiwan #932, plus it's no longer illustrated; the text description does not seem to match, as there's no "100" at bottom center, that I can see.
Thanks for the help guys! I got 63 Asian notes in today & you know what it's like attributing Chinese notes.
