Possible Error Cent in $2 worth of Pennies

    I was going through a few rolls and found these 4 coins about a week back. The Steel cent pictured is, I'm pretty sure, only the 3rd one I've ever found roll hunting.

    I also found this one - a 1968-D Lincoln cent that looks to be one of two things,

    1 - either a grease error, as from some angles nearly half of the letters on the reverse are nonexistent, or

    2 - severe post-mint damage.

    That's what it looks like to me.

    Nice find with the steelie. I have found two over the years, but both were so rusty and nasty it was kind of hard to tell what they were.

    That residue stands proud of the designed surfaces of the coin. Th 1968-D is not a mint error.

    I figured it wasn't a mint error, but it's always good to make sure.

    At least there's the steel cent though.
