The best I can do from these pics is, "Dang, I need to look closer at this one." Let's just say I'd be a buyer.
Seller goes out of his way to say, "no returns if you send it off for grading because it is no longer in the original holder." Red flag!
I have seen several circulation strikes 1909's with squared rims like that. Im gonna say no to being a matte proof. I think the lighting over exaggerates the coin's surfaces and color. Even in these pics it looks too "flat" to be a MPL
After examining the photos more and considering some of the other comments I'm leaning towards this not being a matte proof. The example matte proof I posted pictures of earlier has more hair details as well as other areas. After more examination the rims also look different. IMO
"All the die diagnostics.... are clearly seen...." Can you see them? Other than no crack below the bust, I'm unable to make out much of anything.
