    Hello everyone,

I think I just discovered two undocumented design variations of the Cook Islands $2 Double Eagle 1/2 oz. Silver Coins (let me know if I'm not the first to notice).

This issue (https://en.numista.com/175952) was made 2019-2021. Both varieties can be seen on the 2020 & 2021 issues, but for 2019 I have only been able to find one variety which I call "Type 1". Type 2 for both 2020 and 2021 is definitely the scarcer variety.

On the obverse, the most noticeable differences are:
    • the font types (especially "E"),
    • the denticles
    • the wood grain of the bell's headstock
    • the Queen's portrait.

On the reverse, the most notable design variations are:
    • the font types
    • the denticles
    • the eagles' feathers
    • the relation of the lettering and the sun's rays

Reminds me of the U.S. Eisenhower dollar type 1 and two with the thick/thin lettering. I don't recall hearing this before, so.....

Possible there was a Master Die problem and a new one was created. Definitely 2 distinct types, and I like Type 2 better.
