Wow. I will post photos ASAP as I get the opportunity . My knowledge ,appreciation , and fun continue to grow
Here are a few . I have not compared them with any photos yet . I've just been taking picture of it. Trying to get past the glare in my picture taking of it☺️ Any information is welcome . ThankU
Meaning no offense, you might have this backwards - compare what you're seeing to known listings of double dies, and then go to the effort of creating images for our evaluation. That way, you can offer an opinion of what you think you're seeing, rather than making us do the research for you. Offering images and expecting the audience to do your work for you tends to wear thin on people. Not to mention, if your imaging skills aren't at a professional level, your eyes can see detail your camera might not, and as a result you're always going to be the best judge of what you're seeing. Further, comparing it to known records gives you an idea of what details we'll be looking for to help confirm, because you're using the same websites and data we'll be using, looking at the same published images. Variety Vista has Lincoln Cents just about complete for known varieties, a large percentage of them illustrated. This one seems to best resemble DDO-004 as Pickin mentions. That's a good indication as to what images best illustrate the variety, in this case the 2 of the date is most important.
That's a great point @SuperDave , I enjoy looking up Varietys, and most likely jump the gun instead of the OP doing the research to further his ability's, It is though quite refreshing to see a "new" to numismatics member pic out a DD instead of MD.
☺️ ThankU . You are right. Studies are important . I love having coins in hand and picking up on them in hand. Thanks To you and others here I have direct lines (sites) to look through for technical supported information and photos for days... And haven't utilized it yet . I've just been straight looking at coins themselves ☺️ ThankU for the reminder of an amazing gift and resource I have
You guys are dope knowledgable teacher mentor inspiring type people I thought you were. Yeah!! My Greatest find yet and we're just getting started . Does it have a greater Value being in a proof set?
No, but your question was if its a doubled die. A reasonable possibility was mentioned based upon incomplete evidence, but you posted additional photos (of the 2) that suggest your coin is not of said variety. If you are curious as to potential value, you need to know exactly which variety it is, or even if it's a variety at all.
Wow I Love it . I will search. In my observation it looks 99.3% like the photos in that variety site . . Just taking this shoot with glare and plastic cover ☺️ And the zoom lol on this phone as good ,patient , and as much as I Love taking pictures ) is a mission till a purchase my next investment ( the camera )
