In past years, someone posted one of these and it caught my attention enough that I HAD to have one. I bought the cheapest one I could find on e-bay and just ran across it recently while coin arranging. The toning was horrendous, so I did an eZest on it, using a Q-tip to gently wash it over the surface and then quickly rinse it and give it an acetone rinse before putting it into a 2x2. Thought I would put my pictures and give others the opportunity to show theirs.

I had only saw photos of these and had no real concept of how BIG they were until I saw one at a show. Plus, it's cool to have a coin with such a high denomination!

These are fun. Mine is a 10K mark as well. I bought it raw, for relatively cheap. After slabbing, I've got about eighty bucks in it. I think the slab cost me as much or even a little more than the coin did! But like you, I sorta had to have it.

These are relics of Germany in the early 1920s when hyper inflation did in the economy. It stemmed from the reparations the allies imposed on Germany after World War I and sowed the seeds for Hitler and World War II. It’s call notgild which means “not gold.”
