I found a coffee cup full of mixed change in the target parking lot Thursday evening. It was literally just sitting in the parking spot I pulled into and I stepped over it after I was out of my truck. We were shopping for a baby swing since we have a baby coming soon. Ended up not buying anything and leaving with more money than I came with lol. I spotted a bi metal foreign coin sitting on top but haven't searched the contents of the cup yet. I've been pretty busy so I plan on doing so as soon as I can go through them This is one of my strangest finds next to the time I found a bunch of change in the trash in front of the change machine at my bank. Still can't understand people throwing that much change out. Anything I don't keep for collecting I always put in my children's piggy banks. Keep an eye out in those parking lots fellow CRHers.
They pulled in for a drink, but both holders were filled, one with a cup of change, one with the passengers drink. So put the coin cup on the ground and forgot. My cup is usually Mexican coins.
That's a good possibility, I was thinking it could of been a homeless persons change cup also but there wasn't anyone near by. It def looked like someone dumped it and hit the road.
Totals are in. Turned out to be 9.79 cents in US coins. No silver or wheat cents. I ended up with about 8 misaligned die pennies and 3 similar dimes. 1 quarter that appears to be a DDR and has a die crack across the upper reverse. I'll throw some pictures up of it. 1 1986 D penny that is super nice. 1 2001 Canadian nickel and 1 2005 Mexican bi metal 10 pesos.
IIRC the mexico 10 peso could be silver in the middle if it is the correct year. You may want to check.
I don't know much about foreign coins...but I don't think any countries still make coins for circulation with silver. I HOPE I am wrong because I have ALOT of foreign coins from CRH.
