No, doesn't mean that at all. Typically one of two things will happen. The account under the new name will simply be banned. Or, if it has gone unnoticed for a period of time, like this one did, the two accounts are merged into the older account, and the newer of the two names is deleted.

In other words, every post ever made under either name now shows as having been made under the original name. And the only thing that happens is that the newer name just goes away like it was never even there. That allows the database to remain intact and nothing is screwed up.

 

It's pretty simple - it's done to protect you and all the other members of this forum. Protect you from what ? From people with nefarious reasons for using accounts under 2 different names to take advantage of you in one way or another. And yeah there's lots of people like that out there.

Now does that mean that everybody who registers two accounts is a bad guy ? No, it doesn't. But on this forum the rules apply to everybody, equally and fairly. So even if register 2 accounts with no bad intentions at all, you're still not allowed to do it.

No it isn't, and with good reasons. Firstly because it is an unwritten rule, generally understood by everyone, that you are only allowed 1 account. It's kinda like the rule that if a moderator tells you to do something, or not to do something - you better listen. That's not written in the rules either but everybody knows it. Secondly it's not written in the rules because doing so typically results in some people seeing it as a challenge, kind of saying to themselves well we'll see about that ! So they deliberately register multiple accounts just to see if they can get away with it. And that is kind of like something every parent knows - if you want to make sure that a kid does something, tell him he's not allowed to.

That's why it's not in the rules. Because adults are a 100 times worse than any kid ever thought about being !

That's your choice to make Bear, but yeah that's what I'd do. I'd sure never pay to have it slabbed again. You could probably another one already slabbed for less than what it would cost you to slab that one again.
