The banks always had to roll the coins themselves if they didn't use an intermediate such as String or Guarda, etc. I check coins for an old gentleman, now deceased that had whole marked canvas bags of "S" cents up to 1974 he got from a local B of A. There are threads on the forum of a couple I showed, especially fun was the 1969 S bag, over 100 MD similar to the ones on ebay as the 'Real 69S DDO', but not.

That's the reason any "rolls of silver dollars" I searched on eBay can never be true as they came in mint cloth bags.

So if you were to see rolls from before the 30's they must not be bank rolls? I also had a question on the older rolls. Some have a printed bank name on the roll and others look like they have had someone stamp the roll with a rubber stamp. Are those rolls fake rolls? It just seems pretty cheap to me.

Correct. More like big dollar rolls before 60s. Not sure about smaller change but I bet most were in bags as well. My coin guy told me that, saved me lots of time and money on Peace and Morgan dollars! Sadly, most everything has been searched. If you find them in an unopened Mint bag, then they would be unsearched

The searcher in me didn't want to think so because fun to get something Unsearched. Actually Ikes all came in bags too minus the ones the were minted in the holders and sealed

Think of most wrappers, especially on those dollars, like the middle men once they were sent out.
