Any value in over inked seriel numbers? Notice how the 3 is bolder than the rest of the digits. Thoughts? I have opinions, but don't want to voice them until I hear yours. Appreciate your help!
Over inking can appear many ways on a note. For a serial number to be over inked it’s something you don’t see everyday but it really doesn’t raise the premium on a note either and it does happen more often that one would think.
The more ink the better. This is a common thing and one digit slightly over inked is not going to draw a premium.
Thanks everyone! I had a feeling and I've always sent them back to the bank, but I do thinj they're cool and wish they were a thing.
If several digits are heavily over inked or an area is real smushy with ink than that is probably good. 1 digit that is just bolder than the rest won't get the carrot. It's like when the entire line of digits are high or low. If they are only a little high or low it's nothing. But if they are drastically higher or lower then there is a premium.
