Picked this up in my last local show. It's been awhile since I have bought a dollar. This is my oldest US Dollar and probably coin. I 'm a fan. Now I need to get one with the small eagle. I better start saving.

A piece of history. I bought a 1797 just so I could have something that hearkened back to the 1700's. I imagined it could have been in the pocket of some pioneer setting his (or her) eyes on a Western trek to make a new life for themselves in the wilderness. Kind of like owning a civil war era coin that belonged to a young man that might have been marching across a battlefield. We coin enthusiasts are lucky to have such an opportunity to own pieces of history.

Very nice coin @Tater. I want one from the 1700's, but just not enough to come up with the money it would take to have one, I guess.

You described me perfectly! I love history. That's why I collect circulated coins. Oh the stories they could tell! Thank you, Kenneth
