    Hello everyone,
Nowadays There are so many Facebook pages dedicated to coin and paper currency collecting. I follow about a dozen of them and and use my knowledge of Mint Error coins to answer many of the questions asked by the newbie collectors. Many of them thank me for educating them but there are a few that get upset and don't like my answers so they get mad, angry or upset with me. It could get out of hand to the point where they call me all sorts of negative names which is totally uncalled for. Well, that's their loss if they don't want to learn.

I'm happy to announce that I was finally asked to moderate a great Facebook public group page called Coin collecting for amateurs.

The administrator noticed the wealth of information I provide so they asked me to join their team. I'm honored!

I saw that, congrats! I admire your dedication and patience. They asked me a few months ago, but I had to respectfully decline. I know the absolute non-stop posts of 1982 cents, "Is this the one?", mangled pocket change, and IN COD WE TRUST quarters would put me over the edge and I'd say something I shouldn't! I only comment on the posts that appear to be by people actually interested in collecting, I try to ignore the getting rich from pocket change posts. That is one of the better groups on Facebook, some of the others are just over the top.

What you describe is common enough so it does take patience. Moderating for me was about engaging community and reducing tensions when they came up. There will always be dissenters but convert one or two and they’ll change colors for the positive and help promote better outcomes. Good luck with the gig!
