I purchased this 1908-S IHC, I think it's under graded, what do you think the grade is?

Nice woody. I'd guess 35, maybe 40.

I'd say VF-30/35. The green on the reverse is a bit concerning, hopefully it's not corrosion.

 

I'd go with 35. I like the look.

Since I have a problem with Red/green colors I can't see that.

 

In the old days it was Fine-15 to VF-20. Today it's a VF-25 to 30. Calling it EF-40 is grade-flation.

 

Okay, here is a Mint State 64. An AU would only have a brush of wear on the devices and most of its mint luster. The LIBERTY is a little weak on the OP coin. How does LIBERTY look on this Mint State piece which would really be just as sharp on a true AU.

XF40, nice coin. Verdigris on the reverse gives it character.

 

I’d say it a VF-30 but in a real good day it could pull a 35.

@Collecting Nut I'd crack it out and send it but I do like the old holder.

 

If it’s in a nice old holder, I’d leave as is. I collect the coin, not the holders or the slab, but I do have some nice old slabs that I’ve left them in even though I know it would great higher
