I had a friend at work who's father in-law passed. These were given to me. Are any of them worth holding on to?
Quite the library. They all have some value in one way or another. I know the large 'world coin' volumes are very handy for research. The red books are great for handy references but I wouldn't depend on any of the price guides as they are far outdated.
If you become interested in coins, they are great, but they are not really collectors' items. If you become of a collector and coin buyer, information in books make them worth their weight in gold, but maybe not more these days.
All of them are good books. Sorry for his loss. If you really don’t want them and he doesn’t collect coins, you could offer to sell them for him and give him the funds. I start by selling them on CT.
