And I thought that they were friendly?
Are those crop circles? Interesting phenomenon to say the least. Do you believe that they left them. I do. ;)

Oh, wow, that's a crazy one! I can't top that.

Best I can do is a "Bermuda Triangle", I suppose:

Oh... wait! Speaking of beheadings, I did used to own this 1596 Dutch jeton with a beheading scene on the reverse of it. The Spanish behaving badly.

I also like that huge fella standing at the top of the tower with an arquebus (early musket).

I also have this page - the original paperwork issued with the British copy of the medal. I believe they were sold at a shilling a time to raise money for the war effort.

This is the only gold coin known to exist from this King. The portrait is hilarious. 5e57f13e7bfa2bcb1973bc60c730d736 (15).jpg

Struck when the Frankish Kingdom was in chaos. Merovingians divided their realm into four separate Kingdoms
    Neustria
    Austrasia
    Aquitaine
    Provence
    Burgundy
These had their own Kings, who fought each other.

Those Celts were surely the masters of really bizarre coins. The horse on my one Celtic coin is fully articulated with all limbs intact, however.

Here’s an Anglo-Saxon coin with an ouroboros (snake eating its own tail) on both sides. The ouroboros is a very ancient symbol that dates back to ancient Egypt, and has associations with alchemy.

England (Anglo-Saxon): silver sceat, struck in Essex or East Anglia, ca. 685-700 AD

I think I saw a coin where the eagle heads had elephants in their beaks. Crazy cool coins.
